We maintain four specials that can be created into dozens of specials of your choice. The first is our over the ripe old age of 50 special. The second is our famous Halloween Special that gained national notoriety. See our Press Page for write ups on this one. Third is our Intimate Gatherings special for groups of Family or friends that wish to book the entire Inn. When booking one of our specials, please mention our Specials Page. If you are the ripe old age of 50 or more Captain Grant’s will give you 10% off our rack rate from Sunday through Thursday.

HALLOWEEN: BOO

It is October 31st and a line of ghost hunters crosses Route 2A, walking on the graveled road headed for St. James Cemetery. They search the head stones for the oldest grave and take nighttime pictures hoping to catch that wisp of unearthly essence. Laughing and trying to scare one another, they head back to the Inn. They huddle around a bonfire telling ghost stories that make the hair rise on the back of your neck. Spiked hot cider is served with pumpkin bread and the telling goes on into the night.

Morning finds a hot all-you-can-eat breakfast waiting on the dining room table. Stories continue and pictures are shared. Following breakfast, a tour of cemetery #17 commences. The mist on the field slowly evaporates as they make their way to the abandoned home of the dead behind the Inn. There is no other cemetery such as this one. It is ancient with stones that have sunk to only a few inches high. It has been forty years since the occupants have been cared for. They sleep on a ridge high above a small rushing stream, waiting.

There is no extra rate above what is listed on our reservations page.

INTIMATE GATHERINGS:

Intimate Gatherings can only be had by booking all seven rooms. It includes our all you can eat breakfasts and a dinner cooked in the evening for your family or friends. Vegetable and cheese tray, wine, entrée and dessert are included in the price of $45.00 per person plus room cost. The cost of the room depends on the time of the year and days of the week. The most popular times for Intimate gathering are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We have also accommodated Bar-B-Ques in earlier months.

YOUR PERSONAL GETAWAY:

Design your own getaway. We make the vacation easy for you. You may even book on line. Just mention under “notes” on Webervations what special you would like to have or call us at 800-982-1772. This is what you do. Choose the room you wish to have. There is no increase in cost for having a Special. Add the events you would like to see from the list below. We will make the arrangements for you.

  1. Visit Mystic Seaport. You receive a discount card entitling you to $4.00 off their price.

  2. Visit the Marine life Aquarium. $22.00 (a discounted price)

  3. Have a private massage in your room. $85.00 for a light massage and $100.00 for a deep massage. Both are one hour in length. In the winter, you can have a fire going and a glass of wine. Both free of course.

  4. Order a bottle of wine ($20.00), a dozen Roses (25.00), or a box of chocolates ($15.00). Take one, two or all three and have the DVD player running with your romantic movie or music and snuggle (free). A special brand of wine or chocolates may raise the cost. These prices do not apply on Valentines Day.

    1. Have dinner at Belle Fiore, a most romantic restaurant, and get a free dessert or dine at Modesto’s, a fine dining Italian and Mexican restaurant, and receive a free glass of wine.
    2. We have recently added Valentino's Restaurant where you get a free glass of wine or dessert. Our newest Restaurant is Captain Daniel Parker Inn. They offer our guests a free appetiser.

  6. Enjoy Captain Daniel Packer Inn also built in 1754. For $85. added to your room charge you will get a certificate allowing you to partake of anything on their menu plus a drink of your choice for two. Most guests get lobster and an expensive cocktail.

  7. The ultimate weekend. Fly in a hot air balloon at Eastern Connecticut Balloon. Private flights for two can be booked. The balloon carries three passengers and a pilot. Please contact us directly for this special. 800-982-1772 We will do breakfast as early as 6AM for this special. A bag lunch can be added for $10.00 each.
